Amy Anderson - Contributor Profile on blog.sister-mag.com

Today’s contributor profile comes from Brooklyn/NY and we are really glad to be featuring the lovely Amy Anderson from Parker Etc. on our blog. We first met her at a ‘Blogbrunch’ Twitter Party, where she is now one of the main ladies working behind the scenes. When we asked Amy to do a fashion feature, she agreed instantly and we met up on Skype for a ‘quick chat’. This chat went on and on for more than two hours, where we were babbling away about life, software, the music business, trends and fashion. And while Amy is dreaming of following Smilla’s guide through Istanbul, we now dream of being invited to one of her fabulous dinner parties in Brooklyn ;)!

What is your name and blog‘s or business‘ name?
Amy Anderson // Parker Etc.
What is your blog about? Is that your profession or a hobby?
Parker Etc is a quirky version of a lifestyle blog focusing on everything from fashion to home decor, my amateur DIY attempts and highlights my love for hosting massive dinner parties in our Brooklyn loft.
What was your favourite book (or magazine) as a child?
Highlights! They had the most amazing puzzles and word games (nerd alert!)
What is your favourite magazine today?
Garden & Gun. Yep, can you tell I lived in Texas?
What is your home page when opening the browser?
BBC News
What is your favourite Social Media Platform
Instagram is my favourite right now. It’s all the great “to-the-second” updates like Twitter, but filled with pretty pictures! Next big thing, Socialcam … that will be my next favourite!
One thing you love and one thing you hate!
Love :: Brooklyn
Hate :: Olives
What have you contributed to sisterMAG?
I did a fashion feature – “Pastels Are The New Neon”
What‘s (apart from yours) your favourite article/feature in sM N°2?
Hands down, ‘Vintage in Istanbul’. Those phottos were stunning! First off, it’s a city I’ve always dreamed of visiting. Second, I loved how it was such a first hand guide full of insider tips and local suggestions for shops and places to see. nd the fact that it was highlighting things that wouldn’t normally be in a traveller’s guide, but definitely something that would be in the guide of a person reading “sisterMAG”. When can I go?!
What is your suggestion for our magazine (category, feature, technology, …)
This is hard! I’m such a fan of all you’ve done already. Mainly, because you do it all so well. Maybe videos? Some of those great DIY sections could be showcased in a cool video format. Just an idea!
