You may have noticed in our first issue already that we put a special focus on our section pages. When we started thinking about sisterMAG we were pretty sure that we had to be careful with the layout. Since we are introducing so many topics and different sections, it easily becomes cluttered and one does not know where he or she is navigating to. We want to share some insights with you how we (or better I) try to keep sisterMAG easy to navigate and “calm”. One of the things I put a lot of thoughts into are the section pages. As the cover clearly suggests our colour theme of the spring issue was “pastels all over”. I however refused to use any pink and rose tones, because that turns everything girly in an instant. Furthermore there are so many great pastel tones from apricot, mint to light blue – you don’t need to turn to pink.
This time each section page uses a different pastel colour. They are mostly collages, but all crafted digitally using Photoshop/Illustrator. Since there was a lot of work put into each section page we want to pull them out of the issue for you to download and use as wallpaper. We’ll start with the wardrobe section. The girl was drawn in Illustrator and takes the aprons from inside this section as an inspiration.
Simply click on the right resolution for your screen and you can directly download the .jpg.
We hope you like our idea. Which section page are you looking forward to the most to use as desktop wallpaper?
You cannot remember all of our section pages? Well, then try out our “Fast-Forward-button”. On each section page you’ll find this large round button. Once clicked it takes you directly to the next section – without leafing through 50 content pages!
Have a lovely day and fun with our first wallpaper! Yours, Thea
